1. The New York Riptide signed six different players on Thursday, including PLL star Matt Kavanagh. The former Notre Dame standout is a Long Island native and joins transition player Ryan Hotaling, forward Zach Herreweyers, defenseman Scott Johnston, defenseman Brier Jonathan, and forward Kurtis Woodland.

Kavanagh will hope to crack his first NLL roster. He spent time on the San Diego Seals’ practice squad last season and currently plays for Redwoods. He and Woodland are the lone signees without NLL experience.

2. The NTDP Girls National Combine continued at US Lacrosse headquarters on Thursday. The U15 and U17 players trained both on the field and in the gym as part of the combine process.

Natalie Wills, senior manager of the NTDP, appeared on Lax Sports Network to share her perspective on the program (fast forward to 17:40).

3. Manhattan women’s lacrosse announced the hiring of Jenna Dingler as its next head coach. Dingler, the former Caldwell coach, replaces Katie McConnell, who left to take the job at Lafayette.

4. IWLCA Executive Director Gothard Lane announced Thursday that he will retire effective Dec. 31. Lane has served as the executive director since being hired in 2007, and has sspent time helping grow women's lacrosse.
