Daniel Bucaro, who spent 2019 on the College Inactive List and did not play a game, was named the Major League Lacrosse Warrior Rookie of the Year on Thursday.
The Georgetown product was key in helping the Denver Outlaws reach the MLL championship game, scoring 13 goals with two assists in five games. Along with Ryan Lee, Bucaro helped fuel a potent Denver offense that hoped to lead the team in John Grant Jr.'s final season. The Outlaws ultimately fell just short, losing to the Boston Cannons 13-10 in the title game.
A Big East champion in 2018 and 2019 with Georgetown, Bucaro holds the program's all-time goals record with 153. He also compiled 73 assists in 57 career games for the Hoyas. He was the ninth overall pick in the 2019 MLL Collegiate Draft.
Tomorrow, the league will announce the SPDR Goalie of the Year.
