Cornell University announced that Jim Case, the associate head athletic trainer who served Cornell student-athletes for 32 years, died suddenly on Saturday. He was 55.

Case worked closely with the men's lacrosse team, supporting several would-be stars in the sport.

Case joined Cornell in August 1988. He was a trainer for the senior men's national team in 1994 and 1998. Both teams won gold medals, and 1998 can be remembered for one of the greatest championship games in lacrosse history.
