SPARKS, Md. — US Lacrosse today announced best-selling author and leadership consultant Jon Gordon as the keynote speaker of the 2018 US Lacrosse Convention (LaxCon).

Gordon, who played lacrosse at Cornell University, will address lacrosse’s largest educational event at 8 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, in the fourth-floor ballroom of the Baltimore Convention Center. The day and time represent a shift from previous Friday night keynote sessions.

“Positive leadership remains critically important for adults that play important roles in the lives of young people,” Gordon said. “Lacrosse had a significant impact on my life. I’m excited to give back to this great sport, and I’m honored US Lacrosse has invited me to share my message with coaches and officials at LaxCon.”

He has authored 17 books, including “The Hard Hat” — the story of former Cornell player George Boiardi, who passed away during a Big Red game in 2004.

Five of Gordon’s books have earned best-seller status: “The Energy Bus,” “The Carpenter,” “Training Camp,” “You Win in the Locker Room First” and “The Power of Positive Leadership.” Gordon and his tips have been featured on The Today Show, CNN, CNBC, The Golf Channel, Fox and Friends and in numerous magazines and newspapers.
