Gone last week from the Mid-Atlantic Top 10 for the first time this season, Conestoga (Pa.) played itself right back into those rankings by avenging one of its losses.

Conestoga won its state quarterfinal matchup convincingly over Unionville (Pa.) 17-6. Unionville had won their matchup on the way to the district championship game. Conestoga also knocked off another previously unbeaten team, Easton (Pa.), in the first round. 

That propelled Conestoga back into the National Top 25 at No. 16. 

Also new to the Top 25 is Baldwinsville (N.Y.), rolling right into the playoffs. The Bees are on a 10-game winning streak after closing out the regular season with a 16-5 win over Marcellus (N.Y.).

Northport is playing its best lacrosse at the right time. The Tigers scored 17 goals in each of their three wins last week — while giving up just 12 combined. Kaylie Mackiewicz paced Northport with six goals and two assists in a 17-3 win over Commack. Isabella Germani had three goals and two assists, Shannon Smith added three goals and one assist and Tara Walsh scored two goals as Northport raced out to an 11-2 halftime lead. Previous: 1

2. New Canaan (Conn.), 19-0

New Canaan remains undefeated after topping Wilton (Conn.) 12-9 in the CIAC Class L quarters. Dillyn Patten led the offensive charge with five goals, while Kaleigh Harden filled the stat sheet with a pair of goals, six draw controls and three caused turnovers. Quinn McKiernan added one goal and three assists, and Hollis Mulry had two goals and one assists. The Rams will need to beat Darien for the fourth time this year to reach the state championship game. The Friars advanced to the CHSAA championship game against Sacred Heart (N.Y.) with a 17-5 win over St. John the Baptist (N.Y.) in the semifinals. The Phantoms continue to be a menace for all comers, winning their 14th straight game Friday by beating West Babylon (N.Y.) 11-4. Alex Fusco scored three goals, Maddigan Miller had two goals and one assist, Mairead Kelly tallied two goals, Keira Rooney added one goal and two assists and Felicia Giglio made 14 saves. After rallying from a one-goal halftime deficit to defeat Manhasset (N.Y.) 12-9, Garden City made it nine wins in a row by knocking off North Shore 9-6 on Saturday. Sydney Pappas scored four goals, Olivia Kaval had one goal and two assists and Meghan Rode and Angie Suau had one goal and one assist apiece. 6. Darien (Conn.), 16-3

Chole Humphrey had four goals and two assists and Ryan Hapgood scored four goals to lead Darien to a 15-4 win over Cheshire (Conn.) in the CIAC Class L quarters. Molly McGuckin scored three goals, Colette Quinn had a pair of goals and Ceci Stein added one goal and three assists as Darien raced out to an 8-1 lead. Previous: 6

7. Manhasset (N.Y.), 10-2

Emma LoPinto tallied four goals and one assist, Grace Gately had three goals and one assist and Finley Collins made 12 saves, but Manhasset’s nine-game winning streak was snapped in a 12-9 loss to Garden City. It’s now 10 straight wins for one of Long Island’s hottest teams, as Eastport-South Manor defeated host Harborfields (N.Y.) 10-6 on Wednesday. 9. Sayville (N.Y.), 12-2

Sayville bounced back from a 10-6 loss to neighboring Bayport-Blue Point (N.Y.) to defeat Westhampton (N.Y.) 10-9 at home. Kelsey Restivo had three goals and three assists, Erin Schaefer added two goals and two assists and Taylor Hoss and Meg McLaughlin chipped in two goals and one assist apiece. Previous: 8

10. Baldwinsville (N.Y.), 14-2

The Baldwinsville train is rolling right into the playoffs with the Bees on a 10-game winning streak after closing out the regular season with a 16-5 win over Marcellus (N.Y.). Emma Gebhardt scored four goals, Olivia Muscolino had three goals and one assist, Carlie Desimone added two goals and one assist and Grace Hollenbeck tallied a pair of goals in the win. Mid-Atlantic Top 10

1. St. Paul's (Md.), 15-1

The Gators’ season is over after winning the IAAM championship. The title followed a promising winter in which St. Paul’s won the Indoor National Championship. Christina Gagnon led the Gators with 60 points on 36 goals and 24 assists. Caitlin McElwee finished with a team-high 48 goals and had five assists. Lauren Steer scored 23 goals and added 19 assists, while Frannie Hahn was just behind with 40 points on 30 goals and 10 assists. Paris Colgain was the team’s top defender, finishing with seven interceptions while marking opponent’s top attackers. Josie Hahn helped at both ends of the field with 35 ground balls and 25 goals. 2. McDonogh (Md.), 13-3

The Eagles finished as the IAAM runners up. Kori Edmondson is a junior who will return after a huge season with 59 goals, 10 assists, 54 draw controls and 10 caused turnovers. Caroline Godine scored 25 goals, tallied 20 assists and added five caused turnovers. Kemper Robinson finished with 22 goals, eight assists, 35 draws and 15 caused turnovers. Previous: 2

3. Stone Ridge (Md.), 8-2

Stone Ridge put together an impressive campaign against a competitive schedule. Grace Muldoon paced the offense with 45 goals and 18 assists and also posted team-highs of 35 draw controls and 29 ground balls. Caroline Conaghan finished with a balanced line of 20 goals and a team-leading 25 assists. Grace Slater scored 34 goals to go with 19 assists, and Julia Carr tallied 23 goals and 11 assists. Emelia Bohi allowed just 5.8 goals per game and made 80 saves. Previous: 3

4. Georgetown Visitation (D.C.), 4-2     

The Cubs’ season concluded after a limited schedule of just six games. It began with them knocking off St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Va.) twice and ended with them losing twice to Stone Ridge. They also edged perennial power Bishop Ireton (Va.). Sally Zinser paced the offense with 13 goals and 11 assists on the year, while Molly McGuckin scored 12 goals and won 16 draw controls and Molly Finlay also had a dozen goals to go with five assists. Allison Baldwin keyed the defense with 12 ground balls and eight caused turnovers. Previous: 4

5. St. Stephen's & St. Agnes (Va.), 10-3

The Saints finished another strong season in coach Kate Jenkins’ 45th year. Cate Bradley paced the offense with 28 goals and 25 assists, and Annabel Frist had a team-high 33 goals as well as a team-best 79 draw controls, 30 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers. Mira Majure scored 22 goals, Brooke Kurtz posted 22 assists to go with 15 goals, Nicole Cruthird won 27 draw controls and Lane Lambeth contributed 17 goals and eight assists. Rita Peterson had 15 points before suffering a season-ending injury. Morgan Lewis caused 11 turnovers and had 19 ground balls. 6. Oak Knoll (N.J.), 16-1

Oak Knoll did not play last week but was scheduled to open the Non-Public, Group A state tournament quarterfinals on Monday against Camden Catholic (N.J.). The top-seeded Royals had a first-round bye. With a win, they would play either fourth-seeded Mount St. Mary or fifth-seeded Pingry in the semifinals Thursday. Previous: 6

7. Notre Dame Prep (Md.), 13-2

Notre Dame finished as an IAAM semifinalist and the lone team to defeat St. Paul’s (Md.) this season. Nancy Halleron concluded the year with 40 goals, 16 assists and 125 draw controls. Halley Koras fired in 28 goals to go with a team-high 19 assists, and Annie Marshall’s 21 goals and eight assists gave the Blazers a reliable third weapon, while Kailey Pelkey scored 16 goals and added 11 assists. Olivia Rockstroh led the defensive end with 19 caused turnovers, 34 ground balls and 40 successful clears. Previous: 7

8. Conestoga (Pa.), 19-2-1

Conestoga avenged its district semifinal loss to former No. 8-ranked Unionville (Pa.) with a 17-6 win in the Pennsylvania Class 3A semifinals on Saturday. Kate Galica scored four goals, added three assists and won six draw controls to lead the team. Megan Marengo had a game-high five goals, Rachel Clark finished with a hat trick to go with an assist, and Melissa Hewitt also scored three goals. Piper Kienzel added one goal and one assist, and Gabby Ridder had a pair of assists. Alana Lepore saved four shots. Conestoga had advanced by beating previously undefeated Easton in the state tournament opener June 1, as Clark had five goals, three assists, four draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers. 9. Chatham (N.J.), 17-1

The Cougars shut out Roxbury 13-0 in the first round of the North Jersey Group 3 state tournament on June 1. Stella Straka and Nina Javello each had two goals and one assist, and Straka also picked up four ground balls. Jane Middleton scored a goal and provided a pair of helpers, while Sophie Straka and Haley Riobov scored one goal and added one assist apiece. Chatham advanced to the semifinals with an 18-4 win over North Hunterdon on Thursday. Sophie Straka won six draw controls and had a hat trick, while Carly Frohnapfel also scored three goals. Ashley Kiernan led the offense with five points on two goals and three assists. Carlin Chazen and Kayleigh Coughlin each posted two goals and one assist. Good Counsel rode the leadership of 15 seniors and 12 Division I players to an impressive season, despite it being shortened to eight games. 1. Milton (Ga.), 21-0

The Eagles concluded the 2021 campaign with their fourth straight state title, beating West Forsyth (Ga.) 13-8 on Saturday in the final. The Eagles, who have now won 14 of the last 16 championships awarded, advanced to the finals by topping Walton (Ga.) 17-3 on May 11. USC recruit Maddie Dora had 20 goals and 12 assists during the four-game playoff run. Brie Catts, Skylar Carrasquillo and Haly Hawks all contributed hat tricks in the state final, while Tori Mellinger stopped 10 shots. Previous: 1

2. American Heritage-Delray (Fla.), 16-1

The Stallions defeated Lake Highland Prep (Fla.) 13-11 to capture an FHSAA Class 1A championship on May 8. American Heritage-Delray finished the season on an 11-game winning streak. Freshman Brooke Goldstein had a team-leading 52 goals, while junior Casey Roberts led with 32 assists. American Heritage-Delray’s only loss was a regular-season defeat against Lake Highland Prep. 3. Lake Highland Prep (Fla.), 20-1

The Highlanders bid for a perfect season and state title came to a close on May 8 by losing to American-Heritage Delray 13-11 in the championship game. Juniors Jacqueline Jaskiewicz and Lauren Pittman led Lake Highland with 47 goals each. Syracuse recruit Olivia Adamson had a team-leading 27 assists to add to her 40-goal contribution. Previous: 3

4. East Chapel Hill (N.C), 16-2

The Wildcats won a state championship after they pulled off a pair of stunning upsets, first defeating Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.) 19-12 on March 22 in the state quarterfinals, then defeating Weddington (N.C.) 14-8 on March 27. Talia Zuco scored five times in the championship game. Sophie Halus and Molly Reed tied as the team’s scoring leaders with 56 goals each. Previous: 4

5. Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.), 13-1

Following a perfect regular season, the Crusaders were upset in the state quarterfinals on March 22 against East Chapel Hill. Harvard recruit Caroline Mullahy racked up 40 goals and 77 assists in just 14 games. Sophomore Gracie Mullahy tallied 36 goals and 28 assists. Previous: 5

6. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.), 13-1

The Raiders won the FHSAA Class 2A state title by defeating Vero Beach (Fla.) 17-9 on May 8. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.) only had one loss, to Class 1A runner up Lake Highland Prep (Fla.). Navy recruit Ava Yovino led the team in both goals (45) and assists (28) to go along with a team-leading 49 ground balls and 21 draws. Peri Reigner also played a key role for St. Thomas Aquinas with 39 goals and 17 assists. Previous: 6

7. Weddington, (N.C.), 17-2

The Warriors came one game short of winning a state title, losing 14-8 to East Chapel Hill on March 27. Senior Jordyn Case (Stanford) scored 82 goals and added 53 assists to close out her stellar high school career. Virginia Tech recruit Kendal Williams added 70 goals to complete her senior season. 8. Franklin (Tenn.), 18-0

The Admirals concluded a perfect season with a 14-12 win over Ravenwood (Tenn.) in the state championship game Sunday. Sophomore Aliya Polisky led Franklin with six goals, while senior Josie Ward scored five times to give her 110 goals for the season. Franklin advanced to the championship game by defeating Seymore (Tenn.) 20-4. Ward scored seven times while Gracie McCoy had five goals. Previous: 9

9. Hockaday (Texas), 12-2

The Daisies were crowned Texas Division I champions by defeating Southlake (Texas) 14-11 on May 9. The season was highlighted by wins over Episcopal School Dallas (Texas) and Highland Park (Texas). Previous: 8

10. Vero Beach (Fla.), 16-2

Vero Beach’s quest for a state title came just short, falling to St. Thomas Aquinas 17-9 in the final. Sophomore Alexa Vega led the squad with 56 goals, while senior Emily Adams led with 49 assists on top of her 38 goals. Previous: 10

Midwest Top 10

1. Loyola Academy (Ill.), 19-0

The Ramblers won their lone game of the week, defeating Mother McAuley (Ill.) 19-2 and are one victory from their 19th consecutive 20-win season. Adrienne Leone had four goals in the win against Mother McAuley, while Catherine Holcomb had four assists. Previous: 1

2. New Trier (Ill.), 15-3

The Trevians ended their regular season with a two-goal loss to Hinsdale Central. New Trier’s only other losses came to top-ranked Loyola Academy, with the Trevians falling by five goals in their first meeting and just two in the rematch. Otherwise, New Trier had been very explosive, averaging 16.4 goals. Previous: 2

3. Hinsdale Central (Ill.), 13-3

The Red Devils enter the postseason with confidence after coming within five goals of top-ranked Loyola Academy, defeating another top Land of Lincoln foe in New Trier and taking down a solid team in Glenbrook South by a significant margin. Previous: 3

4. Edina (Minn.), 12-0

Thirteen players scored in the Hornets’ lone game of the week, an 18-0 victory over Minneapolis (Minn.). Haley Reeck led Edina with four goals, while Allison Mackay tacked on three assists. Previous: 4

5. East Grand Rapids (Mich.), 21-2

The Pioneers coasted to a regional title, defeating Forest Hills Central (Mich.) and Spring Lake (Mich.) by a combined margin of 36-12. Next up for East Grand Rapids is a Wednesday state semifinal against DeWitt. Previous: 5

6. Dublin Coffman (Ohio), 18-5

The Shamrocks showed their stunning regional title win over Upper Arlington (Ohio) was no fluke, as they won four straight games by two goals or fewer to capture the Division I state title. Kate Tyack led Coffman with five goals in a 13-12 win against New Albany in the state championship, while Amanda Bailey also had a hat trick. Previous: 6

7. Upper Arlington (Ohio), 20-1

The Golden Bears’ season ended in the regional final, but their impressive resume includes in-state road wins over Medina (15-10), Thomas Worthington (16-11), New Albany (7-3), Mason (15-7) and Hudson (17-9). Camryn Callaghan led Upper Arlington with 59 goals despite playing just 14 games due to injury, while Rian Adkins (41 goals), Kampbell Stone (40), Clara Gallapoo (38) and Ava Walters (34) gave the Golden Bears five players over 30 goals. 8. Carmel (Ind.), 16-2

The Greyhounds captured the state title with five-goal victories over Cathedral (Ind.) in the semifinals and Hamilton Southeastern (Ind.) in the championship game. Maddie McGarty led Carmel with six goals against the Irish, while Julia Cherubini had five against the Royals and Hannah Kim totaled nine between the two. Previous: 8

9. Prior Lake (Minn.), 13-1

The Lakers started their postseason with a 21-1 victory over Holy Angels (Minn.). That sets up an intriguing Section 6 semifinal against Blake (Minn.), which Prior Lake beat just 9-6 back on April 24, behind a hat trick from Payton Bloedow, two goals apiece from Jayne Bernick and Ava Schiltz and 13 saves from Abby Ziehl. T10. Rockford (Mich.), 13-4

The Rams had to battle for a chance at their 13th consecutive regional title. They rallied from a 10-8 overtime deficit despite having two players serving yellow cards to defeat Forest Hills Northern/Eastern in sudden death in their regional semifinal. In that second overtime period, Alexis Neumen won the draw, with Issy Osborn feeding Chloe Dunham for the game-winner. Rockford’s regional title game was far less stressful, as it defeated Hudsonville 23-1, including four more goals by Dunham. Previous: T10

T10. New Albany (Ohio), 20-4

The Eagles won 13 straight games before falling in the Division I state title game to Dublin Coffman. Abby Cole led New Albany with four goals, while Mary Carson and Katie Kaucheck also had hat tricks, as the trio combined to score 10 of the Eagles’ 12 goals. Previous: T10

1. Colorado Academy (Colo.), 8-0

The Mustangs rolled past Cherry Creek (Colo.) 18-7 in their only game last week after building a 10-goal lead in the first half. Jessie Bakes led with four goals and one assist, Ella Freimuth added four goals, and Katharine Merrifield tallied three goals and one assist. Freshman Charlotte Corkins assists six goals and scored twice herself. Previous: 1

2. Scripps Ranch (Calif.), 17-0

The Falcons capped a perfect season with their second straight CIF San Diego Section Open Division title, beating La Jolla (Calif.) 10-3 in the final Saturday. Scripps Ranch also defeated La Jolla in the last championship in 2019. Senior Emma Tadeusiak scored three goals in the first half to help the Falcons build a 5-0 lead in the first 10 minutes Saturday, and Kayden Williamson also finished with a hat trick. 3. Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.), 17-0

Elena Torres tallied seven goals, and Taylor Puma and Natalie Anderson each added four goals and one assist, as the Knight coasted to a 20-8 win over Redondo Union (Calif.) in the CIF Southern Section semifinals. They meet Newbury Park (Calif.) in the final Wednesday. Foothill had beaten Newport Harbor (Calif.) 17-2 in the quarterfinals June 2 with Zoey Stephens tallying a game-high five goals, and Torres and Puma each adding hat tricks. Previous: 3

4. San Ramon Valley (Calif.), 12-0

The Wolves completed their season, and the CIF North Coast Section will not be holding championships this year. Alannah Scott led SRV with 48 goals and eight assists, and Lauren Iorio added 33 goals and 20 assists. CoCo Wong won 73.7 percent of the draws she took and also tallied 25 goals and 24 assists. The Wolves outscored opponents 218-76. Previous: 4

5. Mercer Island (Wash.), 8-0

The Islanders cruised past Eastside Catholic 21-6 on June 1. Up next is a game against Mount Si (Wash.) on Tuesday. Annabelle Gersch was leading Mercer Island with 24 goals and 16 assists through the first seven games. Previous: 5

6. Fairview (Colo.), 8-0

Cami Johnson scored three goals, Allie Hartman had two goals and one assist and Isabela Bloomquist added one goal and two assists, as Fairview edged Regis Jesuit (Colo.) 11-10 on Wednesday. Thayer Hubbard finished with 10 saves in goal. Previous: 6

7. La Jolla (Calif.), 12-4

Second-seeded La Jolla beat Torrey Pines for a third time this season in the CIF San Diego Section Open Division semifinals but could not get a first win over Scripps Ranch in the final. In their third matchup of the season Saturday, the Vikings fell behind 7-2 in the first half and couldn’t recover. Previous: 7

8. Newbury Park (Calif.), 15-1

Micah Shin scored a free position goal in overtime to lift the Panthers to an 8-7 win over San Clemente (Calif.) in the CIF Southern Section Division I quarterfinals. Cassie Huber, Emma Ing and Reagan Laubner had two goals apiece, and Lindsay O’Toole added one goal, one assist and six draw controls. Newbury Park then advanced to the final against Foothill with a smoother 14-8 win over Santa Margarita (Calif.) on Saturday. The Panthers led just 7-6 at halftime but won the first three draws to set up scores, and tight defense and goaltending held Santa Margarita to just two goals in the second half.  Huber finished with four goals and three ground balls, Shin had three goals, one assist, two ground balls and one caused turnover, Ing tallied three first-half goals and added four draw controls, one caused turnover and one ground ball, and O’Toole finished with one goal, three assists, six draw controls and two ground balls. 9. Park City (Utah), 19-0

The Miners capped an undefeated season with the UHSAA/Mountain America title, beating Waterford (Utah) 17-11 in the final on May 28. Kendall Keblish led Park City with 99 goals and 23 assists this season, and Samantha Riely added 50 goals and 42 assists. The Miners outscored opponents 381-51 this season. Previous: 10

10. Torrey Pines (Calif.), 13-4

The Falcons’ season ended with a third loss to La Jolla, this time in the CIF San Diego Section Open Division semifinals. Stella Mikolajewski led the offense with one goal and one assist to go along with a team-high three ground balls, and five others tallied one goal each.
