AUBURNDALE, Fla. — The Pan-American Lacrosse Association (PALA) is pleased to announce the Colombia Lacrosse Association will host the 2020 PALA World Lacrosse Men’s Qualifier in Medellin, Colombia. The competition will run from Nov. 9-13, 2020.

The tournament will qualify national teams from the Pan-American Region for the 2022 World Lacrosse Men’s World Championship.

“PALA hosted a very successful women’s qualifier at our headquarters in November of 2019. We are very pleased to have the men’s qualifier played in South America in 2020,” said Katherine Loh, Secretary-General of PALA.

The Pan-American Continental Federation region has 14 World Lacrosse member-nations with men’s lacrosse programs. World Lacrosse, moving into playing qualifying rounds for world championship berths, allocated seven spots to PALA. Three countries — Canada,  the Iroquois Nation and the United States — pre-qualified from the 2018 World Lacrosse Men’s World Championship based on their final placement. The remaining 11 countries competing for the four remaining allocations are Argentina, Bermuda, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, Peru, and Puerto Rico. Countries that successfully compete and earn a spot will move on to the 2022 World Lacrosse Men’s World Championship.
