The top three of the USA Lacrosse Division I Women's Top 20 once again remains in place, but not much else has stayed the same after week seven of the season.
Perhaps the most notable climbs were made by Syracuse, which is up to No. 4, and Johns Hopkins, which is up to No. 7. Both teams climbed three spots, though in drastically different ways.
The Orange eked out a pair of wins over Loyola (14-12) and Notre Dame (12-11) last week, as they have handled their challenging schedule fairly well for a young team. Now 7-4, Syracuse could be rounding into form.
Hopkins throttled Rutgers, giving the Blue Jays their first week this season without playing a one-goal game.
Three teams entered the Top 20 this week — No. 18 USC, No. 19 Cornell and No. 20 Notre Dame.
Despite falling against Michigan, a win for USC over previously unbeaten Ohio State on Sunday was enough to get bumped up. Cornell is in after some who-beat-who math. Brown surprisingly beat Yale over the weekend, and because Cornell beat Brown earlier this year, the Big Red get the call. Notre Dame notched a win over Harvard and played Syracuse close enough to get the nod at No. 20.
