With North Carolina and Northwestern hoisting the first conference trophies of the 2025 Division I women’s lacrosse season, it’s time for the last in-season update to the USA Lacrosse Top 20 before an NCAA champion is crowned Memorial Day weekend.

And there is little upheaval in this final ranking before a hiatus. North Carolina, champion of the ACC, retained its No. 1 ranking. Boston College stands pat at No. 2 with its only two losses coming to the Tar Heels by a combined three goals. Northwestern won the Big Ten championship with a gutsy showing against Maryland to hold down No. 3.

It’s after that point where the uncertainty begins in regards to who can hang with the three top programs.

Maryland is up from No. 6 to No. 4 after nearly upsetting the Wildcats on Sunday. Florida falls back one spot to No. 5 to make room for the Terps. Stanford is the only newcomer to the top 10 after making a run to the ACC semifinals, and the Cardinal will enter the NCAA tournament at No. 8.

There’s little to talk about from there, outside of Stony Brook’s re-entry into the ranks at No. 20.

Continue below to see the entire Top 20, which is compiled by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors.
