KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Reinhardt (Ga.) jumped into the top spot in this week's NAIA Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Poll after an overtime win against previous No. 1 Cumberlands (Ky.).

The Patriots now sit at No. 2 in the nation.

Lawrence Tech (Mich.) and SCAD Savannah (Ga.) held strong at No. 3 and No. 4 from the previous poll. Missouri Baptist rounded out the top five in the fourth regular-season poll, while Keiser (Fla.) jumped two spots to No. 6.

POLL METHODOLOGY

  • The NAIA Women's Lacrosse Poll is for publicity purposes only and has no weight or bearing in the selection process for national championship field consideration
  • The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)
  • The Top 10 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second place and so on through the list
  • The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed
  • Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered “receiving votes”
  • For the first preseason poll, there is no column referencing a previous ranking, as polls are new and different from the ratings system
  • Frequency of polls occur bi-weekly
