Peterson, Monigle, Gormley are USA Lacrosse Women's Players of the Week

This season, USA Lacrosse will celebrate the accomplishments of players across Divisions I, II and III each Tuesday with Player of the Week recognition. Players of the Week are selected by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors based on a variety of factors, including individual performance and impact on team success.

DIVISION I

ISABELLA PETERSON, JAMES MADISON

Isabella Peterson continues to light it up. She posted her best game of the season in an 18-8 win over High Point, pouring in eight goals with one assist and seven draw controls. The 6-foot attacker from Sparks, Md., is a tough matchup for any defender because of her height and length. And when she gets the ball with an opportunity to score, she converts a majority of the time. Through four games, Peterson is shooting 51.5 percent (and 81.8 percent on goal).

DIVISION II

LINDSAY MONIGLE, WEST CHESTER

After scoring 110 points last year (which was No. 10 in the nation), the graduate attacker picked up right where she left off with 15 points in second-ranked West Chester’s first two wins. Monigle tallied three goals and five assists in the season opener against Shepherd, then followed with five goals and two assists against Bentley. Monigle has a nifty 80-percent shooting percentage, having converted on eight of her 10 shots in the first two games.

DIVISION III

GRACE GORMLEY, MESSIAH

Messiah is climbing, especially after a 10-6 win over Gettysburg. Grace Gormley was at the heart of that upset, winning nine draws to go with four ground balls and four caused turnovers. She also had that exact line in the season opener against Scranton, another win for Messiah.
