North Carolina Earns Top Spot in IWLCA Media/Coaches Preseason Poll

Three weeks after earning the No. 1 spot in the Nike/USA Lacrosse Division I Women's Preseason Top 20, defending champion North Carolina earned the top rank in the ILWomen/IWLCA Division I poll, which was released Monday morning.

The preseason poll saw the Tar Heels earn 22 first-place votes. Maryland, which placed second, earned two first-place votes, and third-place Boston College earned three first-place votes. the ILWomen/IWLCA Division I poll is compiled through the voting of coaches and members of the media.

Middlebury earned 36 first-place votes to top the ILWomen/IWLCA Division III poll, while Tufts earned the last first-place vote and checks in at No. 2.
