Sydney Tiemann set a new NCAA Division II women’s lacrosse record with her 106th goal of the season Friday in No. 7 Maryville’s 26-11 win over Rockhurst.

Tiemann became just the third Division II player to eclipse the century mark in a win at Quincy last week. She surpassed Tiffin’s Alexandria Quast, who scored 105 goals in 2013, with her fourth goal of the game Friday.

Tiemann collected a pass from Lexi Taylor, drove the right side of the Rockhurst defense and rifled a shot into the upper right corner for the record-breaking goal with 2:58 remaining.

Tiemann transferred to Maryville this season after four years at McKendree. She had 101 career goals coming into this season.

High Point’s Abby Hormes set the Division I single-season record with 103 goals last year, one better than Boston College’s Charlotte North scored in 2021.

St. Vincent College’s Maggie Nelson holds the record across all divisions. She scored 141 goals for the Division III school in 2018.

The Saints (16-1) have clinched a spot in the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament. UIndy will be the host school, and Maryville will find out its opponent following the conclusion of GLVC games on Sunday. The semifinals are Friday, April 28.
