GVSU, Regis Hot Teams in USA Lacrosse Division II Women's Top 20
If you’re a fan of Division II women’s lacrosse, you’ll have to wait one more week for the equivalent of Christmas. While other divisions have announced their NCAA tournament selections, Division II women’s lacrosse is still finishing up some business this week.
Yes, most D-II conferences have wrapped up play, with five more leagues naming champions Sunday, but there’s a couple more to finish this week (NE10 and PSAC) before NCAA selections are announced next Sunday, May 12.
Most of Sunday’s results were as expected, including championships claimed by No. 3 Regis and No. 6 Grand Valley. In fact, due to a combination of chalk results and a limited overall schedule (12 ranked teams played no games last week), there were no changes in this week’s USA Lacrosse Division II Women's Top 20.
That doesn’t mean we can’t see some shuffling at the top before next Sunday’s NCAA tournament reveal, with No. 1 West Chester, No. 2 Pace and No. 4 Adelphi among those playing games this week. These teams have all done enough to garner NCAA bids, so regardless of the results, they will be among the 16 teams in the championship bracket, but the results could still impact the regional seedings and first round matchups.
This is the final in-season update to the Top 20, with the final ranking of the spring coming in the days following the NCAA tournament.

HOT
Grand Valley State (no change)
The Lakers solidified their postseason resume by capturing the GLIAC title with a convincing 13-3 victory over Northern Michigan in Sunday’s championship game. GVSU extended its winning streak to 13 games and improved to 17-1 overall as it positions itself for another NCAA final four run. The Lakers have not lost a game in two months, with their only blemish in 2024 coming in a one-goal loss at No. 5 Maryville on March 6.
Regis (no change)
Four goals each from Maggie Schipfer and Bailey Truex helped the Rangers collect their fifth straight RMAC title Sunday with a 19-6 win over Colorado Mesa. With an 18-1 overall record and 14 straight wins, Regis will be a tough out in the West Regional, which will likely include Maryville and GVSU as well.
NOT
Kutztown (no change)
The Golden Bears had their six-game winning streak snapped with a 14-11 loss at No. 1 West Chester, then dropped a 10-9 decision three days later at East Stroudsburg in the regular season finale. The good news for KU, which is the number two seed in the PSAC’s East Division, is that it gets a quick shot at revenge on Tuesday when number three seed ESU pays a visit in the PSAC quarterfinal.
