Jackie Neary, the first and only women's lacrosse coach in Cabrini history, has been hired to the same position at Neumann University following the closure of Cabrini.
Along with coaching lacrosse, Neary will also have administrative duties as an assistant athletic director. She officially begins on July 1.
“Jackie Neary is a generational coaching talent,” Neumann president Dr. Chris Domes said. “Her legacy of sustained success is extraordinary, and her three-decade track record of helping young women reach their potential is unmatched. We welcome her to the Neumann family with open arms.”
As a lacrosse player, Neary was a part of four Temple University teams to reach the NCAA semifinals, helping the Owls to two national championship games and winning the title with a 6-4 upset of Maryland in 1984.
She has been inducted into the Ridley High School, Delaware County and Cabrini University Halls of Fame.
Neary told USA Lacrosse Magazine last November that she had no intentions of retiring following the closure of the school she called home for 28 years.
