West Chester keeps its hold on No. 1 in the USA Lacrosse Division II Women's Top 20 for a second week, but the rest of the top five belongs to the Sunshine State Conference.
For the second straight year, West Chester (11-0) is the last remaining undefeated team in the nation after adding wins over East Stroudsburg and Bloomsburg. The Golden Rams are on the road for their next three contests and four of the next five, all against PSAC opponents.
No. 2 Embry-Riddle (13-1) leads the parade of four SSC teams trailing behind West Chester. ERAU extended its winning streak to eight games with wins over Saint Leo and Palm Beach Atlantic. No. 3 Tampa, No. 4 Florida Southern and No. 5 Lynn round out this week’s top five.
The SSC’s top four teams start the week with a combined 51-4 record.
There’s potential for more Top 20 shuffling just ahead, as Embry-Riddle visits Florida Southern and Tampa plays No. 9 Saint Leo in a pair of big Wednesday matchups. Lynn also faces Tampa this week, while Kutztown plays East Stroudsburg in a PSAC contest and No. 6 Maryville hosts No. 13 UIndy.
