3 Teams Enter Top 5 of WLCA Division I Coaches Poll
Other than the top position, which has been occupied by Boston College Club since the start of the season, the rest of the WCLA Division I Top 20, released Wednesday, saw significant movement, including three new teams jumping into the top five.
The biggest splash was made by Pittsburgh Club, which settled at No. 2 this week after not being ranked previously. The Panthers improved to 5-0 after registering three wins last week, including victories over then-No. 13 North Carolina Club and No. 14 Virginia Tech Club.
No. 3 Georgia also jumped three spots this week after posting two Top 20 wins, including an 11-4 victory over No. 7 Florida Club. Rounding out the top five are No. 4 Colorado Club and No. 5 Virginia Tech Club, which improved four spots this week after beating Virginia Club and North Carolina.
A busy week of WCLA action featured over 60 games as many teams returned from their spring break hiatus.
In addition to Pitt Club, other newcomers in this week’s Top 20 are No. 13 Notre Dame Club, No. 17 South Carolina and No. 20 Dominican.
