Division I men’s lacrosse is coming to Houston, Texas, on March 8 with a potential Top 20 showdown.
Corrigan Sports Enterprises’ College Lacrosse Live Series will host the event between Towson and Virginia at Kinkaid School.
“We are thrilled to be in Texas and to be a part of the College Lacrosse Live Series,” Virginia head coach Lars Tiffany said in a release while referencing two of his players, Matt Nunes and Reese Stepanian, who both hail from Houston. ”We are fortunate to be able to compete against a formidable Towson team that is loaded with returning talent while exposing our style of lacrosse to a region of this nation that has been critical to our recruiting successes.”
Towson head coach Shawn Nadelen was equally as excited to bring a high-level Division I game to Texas.
“The lacrosse community in Texas will get to experience two elite Division I lacrosse programs battle in the Lone Star State,” Nadelen said. “We hope this will help grow the game in Texas, which continues to increase its footprint on the lacrosse landscape.”
Both Towson (No. 11) and Virginia (No. 5) earned places in the USA Lacrosse Division I Men’s Preseason Top 20 released last week. Virginia reached the NCAA semifinals a year ago, and Towson put up a stiff fight against Syracuse in the NCAA tournament’s first round.
Coverage of the game will air exclusively on Corrigan Sports new platform, “Corrigan Sports Network.”
