Richie Joseph Named USA Lacrosse Division I Men's Player of the Week

Providence junior Richie Joseph is the USA Lacrosse Division I Men's Player of the Week, as announced Tuesday by USA Lacrosse Magazine.

The attackman deposited eight goals on just 11 shot attempts (.727 shooting percentage) in a season-opening 15-8 win over Holy Cross on Saturday. The Longmeadow (Mass.) High School product deposited 41 goals last season, the most on the team.

His 53 points were second to Ryan Bell, who coincidentally had eight assists against Holy Cross. Bell assisted five of Joseph's eight goals.
