Although the top 12 of the USA Lacrosse Division I Men’s Top 20 is identical to last week’s update, there is some movement to discuss in the final eight positions.

In the last update of the regular season — the final Top 20 of 2025 will be announced in the week following the NCAA championship game — Georgetown is the most notable mover with a two-spot rise to No. 13 following a 17-9 drubbing of Villanova.

That win, led by nine goals from freshman Jack Ransom, locked up the No. 1 seed in the Big East tournament for the Hoyas. Now tasked with facing a Marquette team fresh off beating Denver, Georgetown is peaking at the right time but far from safe.

While Georgetown is the headliner, the team rising highest is Boston U, which makes a three-spot climb to No. 16. Facing a trap game against a Colgate team that’s shown a propensity for clipping higher-ranked squads, the Terriers won 14-12 behind three goals and five assists from Jimmy O’Connell and 14 saves from Will Barnes.

Elsewhere, Rutgers is No. 14 despite a 7-8 record after a notable win over Michigan in the Big Ten quarterfinals. The Scarlet Knights have the notable wins and strength of schedule metrics in their favor to make an NCAA tournament appearance, but both are moot in this instance.

The only way Rutgers can make the tournament is if it wins the Big Ten championship. Winning Thursday’s semifinal against Ohio State would even its record at 8-8, but a loss in the championship game would still put the Scarlet Knights below the requisite .500 winning percentage.
