This season, USA Lacrosse will celebrate the accomplishments of players across Divisions I, II and III each Tuesday with Player of the Week recognition.
Players of the Week are selected by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors based on a variety of factors, including individual performance and impact on team success.
Billy Dwan, Syracuse
A miraculous game-tying goal after a ground ball scrum in front of the crease was the highlight for Dwan in a win over Virginia, but Dwan also has a penchant for thriving doing the dirty work. He caused three turnovers and picked up three ground balls against the Cavaliers, a valiant effort while expending so much energy defending Virginia's slew of attackmen.
He was on one of those attackman — McCabe Millon — on Virginia's final possession. Dwan poked the ball from his crosse, causing Virginia's possession to stall.
Cristian Reyes, Saint Michael's
Reyes was on fire this week, notching 13 total points and six total ground balls in wins over Saint Anselm and Saint Rose. The junior's seven points against Saint Rose matched a career high. Against Saint Anselm, he assisted Sebastian Simonson's tying goal with 5:35 remaining.
Warner Cabaniss, Christopher Newport
Cabaniss went 79 percent over three games facing off last week, chipping in three points (all against Colorado College) and 35 ground balls for the Captains.
