Dartmouth has parted ways with head men’s lacrosse coach Brendan Callahan, the university announced Friday.

“At the conclusion of every season, we conduct a holistic review of all facets of each program,” athletic director Mike Harrity said. “We are grateful for the dedication and investment of time and energy Brendan and his staff have demonstrated since he arrived at Dartmouth in 2014. We wish Brendan and his family well.”

Callahan ends his time with Dartmouth with a record of 25-71, including 2-40 in the Ivy League — though the 2023 season brought Dartmouth success it had not seen under the watch of Callahan. The Big Green were 4-0 and then 5-1 before running through the gauntlet of the Ivy League, finishing 6-6 overall and 1-5 in conference play. Their one conference win came against Harvard, a 10-9 overtime victory.

There is potential on the roster, with Emmett Paradine locking up Ivy League rookie of the year honors this season. It was the first Ivy League major award winner for Dartmouth since 2007.

A national search for the program’s next head coach will start immediately, Harrity said.
