We’re down to the final two days of Best of Lacrosse 2023, meaning it’s time to dish out the major hardware. Today, we’re ready to crown the Best Men’s Player of the year.

The following four nominees are simply the best the men’s game has to offer. They’re team MVPs, international MVPs and so much more. Withouth them, the sport wouldn’t have been as exciting as it was in 2023.

Here are the nominees for Best Men’s Player.

BEST MEN’S PLAYERR

BRENNAN O’NEILL

The 2023 Tewaaraton Award winner was the NCAA runner up with Duke but the MVP of the U.S. national team during its gold-medal run this summer. The big attackman now has two gold medals to his name (one of the U.S. U21 men the summer before) and he still has another season on a college campus.

PAT KAVANAGH

The legend of Pat Kavanagh is a story that will be told around the Notre Dame campus for ages. He willed the Irish to their first national championship in May, playing on a bum hamstring that left a significant chunk of his leg black and blue. A Tewaaraton Award finalist and one of the most emotive celebrators in the college game, Kavanagh is a fan favorite.

TOM SCHREIBER

The No. 1 player in the PLL Top 50 as the league MVP, Tom Schreiber again proved his lacrosse heroism by scoring the game-winner in the PLL title game on a rain-soaked field in Philadelphia. What more can this guy do?

DHANE SMITH

Snubbed — in the opinions of many — in the PLL Top 50, it really is impossible to question the merits of Dhane Smith in lacrosse. A two-time NLL MVP, an NLL champion, a PLL champion, a Canadian Sixes champ and so much more. Smith is one of the best the game has to offer.
