Charlie Bertrand is already etching his name in the history books at Merrimack. He broke onto the scene his freshman year with 52 goals and 75 points — both among the top five totals in school history at the time.

Last season, the sophomore helped anchor a team that won its first-ever NCAA Division II title over Memorial Day weekend. He dropped 62 more goals in 2018 and won USILA Co-Player of the Year honors.

Bertrand is back for his junior season at Merrimack, and as a result, he’s our Warrior/US Lacrosse Division II Men’s Preseason Player of the Year. A player that one opposing coach labeled “a stud,” Bertrand will lead a loaded Warriors team looking to win another national championship before it heads to Division I play in the NEC next year.

Merrimack is ranked at the top of the Nike/US Lacrosse Division II Men’s Preseason Top 20, and Bertrand is one of the major contributing factors. If his first two seasons are any indication, he’s in store for success in 2019.
