It’s taken awhile, but we have a new No. 1.

Chaminade earned a measure of revenge with an overtime win over St. Anthony’s in the second of three meetings this season. Will Lynch scored three goals, including the overtime winner, Ben Bonafede had two goals and one assist, Jack Flarety had one goal and two assists, five others scored one goal apiece and Alex Zepf made 13 saves in a stunning 11-10 win at St. Anthony’s.

The rubber match and season finale will be for a CHSAA title Saturday.

Elsewhere in the Top 25, Boys' Latin went from unranked to No. 7 after winning an MIAA-A championship.

The Friars took out their frustrations from their first loss of the season on Yorktown, winning 16-4 on the road Sunday. Mike Leo had six goals and three assists, John Maccarone had four goals and Andrew McAdorey and Owen Duffy had one goal and three assists apiece as St. Anthony’s held the Huskers to a pair of goals through three quarters. 3. Manhasset (N.Y.), 8-0

Rory Connor had eight goals and one assist, Aidan Mulholland had three goals and four assists, Joey Terenzi had three goals, Matthew Perfetto added two goals and one assist and Nolan Garcia had a hat trick of assists in a 17-7 win over Seaford, which was followed by a 12-5 win over previously undefeated Cold Spring Harbor. 4. Brunswick (Conn.), 14-3

Brunswick closed out the 2021 season with consecutive wins over Avon Old Farms, including a 16-8 victory in their finale. Tommy Quinson had four goals, Luke Waters had two goals and one assist, Tomas Delgado had a pair of goals and Coulter Mackesy had one goal and two assists to lead the Bruins. Previous: 4

5. Darien (Conn.), 15-1

Brady Pokorny scored off a feed from Jamison Moore with 1:19 left to secure a wild 10-9 win over New Canaan Thursday. It was the freshman’s second goal of the game. Older brother Finn Pokorny added a pair of goals as well. Matthew Minicus had three assists and Andy Demopoulos made 10 saves in the victory. A 21-4 win over St. Joseph Trumbull followed for the Blue Wave, who are the top seed in the upcoming FCIAC tournament. Previous: 5

6. Victor (N.Y.), 7-0

Thomas Gravino had two goals and one assist, Cal Lambert, Alex Seiler and Nick Benetti scored two goals apiece and Zack Pavia made eight saves in a 9-3 win over Penfield after lopsided victories over Webster Schroeder and Greece Athena. Previous: 6

7. Mount Sinai (N.Y.), 8-0

The Mustangs continue to roll, defeating Westhampton 8-6 in a steamy Saturday afternoon contest. Joey Spallina impacted all eight goals with two goals and six assists, Nick Colantonio had two goals and one assist, Pat Decker added a pair of goals and Matt Graffeo made six saves. That came after big wins over Hauppauge and West Islip. Against Hauppauge, Spallina had 13 assists — and he only played three quarters. Previous: 9

8. Bayport-Blue Point (N.Y.), 7-1

The Phantoms rallied from a 5-1 deficit to defeat West Islip 8-7 Saturday to cap a week that included an overtime win over rival Sayville and an 11-8 win at Westhampton. Gavin Locascio led the way with five goals, Jameson Smith had one goal and three assists and Eric Grahn added seven second-half saves in the win. Previous: NR

9. Penn Yan (N.Y.), 9-0

The Mustangs are the next newbie to our rankings following a 14-2 win over Aquinas that extended their winning streak to nine to start the season. Ayden Mowry had six goals, Devon Gerhardt had two goals and five assists, Max Brodmann had two goals and one assist and Carter Earl had one goal and two assists. Previous: NR

10. Lincoln-Sudbury (Mass.), 6-0

There’s a lot of excitement at Lincoln-Sudbury over alum Connor McCarthy’s OT winner for North Carolina, and the Warriors have a lot to be happy about this year as well, improving to 6-0 after an 11-6 win over Longmeadow on Friday. Hayden Donley led the way with four goals and two assists, Collin Murphy had a pair of goals, Andrew Toland had one goal and four assists and Nolan O’Brien made 10 saves. Previous: NR

Mid-Atlantic

1. Georgetown Prep (Md.), 10-1

The Hoyas defeated Landon 14-9 in the IAM semifinals on Thursday. Hugh Mullane led Prep with four goals and one assist, Will Angrick had a hat trick, plus one assist, and Colin Burns recorded four points on two goals and two assists. Colin Christmas and Patrick Fitzgerald each contributed two goals and one assist. Prep hosts Bullis for the IAM championship Tuesday. Previous: 2

2. St. John’s College High (Md.), 6-0

St. John’s picked up a big 14-10 win over Gonzaga on Thursday. Caleb Fyock made 14 saves to spearhead the defense, and Gavin Kelly finished with a game-high six goals to spark the offense. Ryan Duenkel had seven points on four goals and three assists, Luke Rhoa scored twice and added an assist, Paul Garza and Michael Thal-Larsen each registered one goal and one assist, and Vincent Trujillo added a pair of helpers. St. John’s was scheduled to face Good Counsel (Md.) on Monday. Previous: 4

3. Boys' Latin (Md.), 10-4

Three straight one-goal victories not only avenged a trio of previous losses but also helped Boys’ Latin finish on the highest note with a MIAA-A championship. The Lakers earned their first title since 2014 with a 9-8 win over Archbishop Spalding on Friday. Ben Smith posted a hat trick with one assist, Riar Schell scored two goals, Gavin McClernan added two key assists, Eddie Lloyd anchored the defensive end and Cardin Stoller made 10 saves. Boys’ Latin rallied to win with a 5-3 edge in the second half. In the semifinals, Smith delivered two goals and four assists and Dominic Pietramala scored four goals and added two assists as the Lakers upset top-seeded and unbeaten McDonogh 13-12. Garrett Glatz and McClernan had two goals apiece and Stoller made 10 saves. Boys’ Latin came into the playoffs as the fifth seed after losing two of its final four regular-season games by a combined three goals. Previous: NR

4. McDonogh (Md.), 11-1         

The Eagles lost 13-12 to Boys’ Latin in the MIAA-A semifinals to conclude their season. Jack Dudas paced the offense with five goals, and McCabe Millon, Jack Horrigan and Dante Trader all had two goals apiece. Millon added a pair of assists, and Trader and Jonny Cool had one assist apiece. Previous: 1

5. Malvern Prep (Pa.), 19-2

Malvern claimed its third straight Inter-Ac League championship with a 14-5 win over Haverford on Saturday. Haverford had upset the Friars in the regular season, but in the rematch, Malvern jumped out to a 6-0 lead and never relinquished the cushion. Colin McGill led all scorers with four goals and one assist, Will Peden had three goals and two assists and AJ Nikolic supplied a hat trick and one assist. Eric Spanos and Tucker Milhous each had two goals apiece, while Nick Potemski delivered three assists. Chris O’Grady made six saves, Joseph Doherty had three saves and Justin Turley was 5-for-10 on faceoffs. Malvern beat Germantown Academy 18-6 in the Inter-Ac semifinals Thursday, as McGill scored a game-high six goals and added two assists, Potemski had a hat trick and two assists and AJ Nikolic and Luke Price scored two goals apiece. 6. Archbishop Spalding (Md.), 12-3

The second-seeded Cavaliers fell 9-8 to Boys’ Latin in their first trip to the MIAA-A championship game. Michael Weisshaar had a hat trick, and Josh Tang scored two goals. Race Ripley and Nicholas Gutierrez each had one goal and one assist. Spalding came within a goal with 11 seconds left but could not find the equalizer. In the semifinals, Spalding got two late goals from Weisshaar to snap a 7-7 tie on its way to a 9-8 win over Calvert Hall. Weisshaar finished with three goals and one assist. Tang and Gutierrez each scored twice, while Ripley provided a pair of assists. Previous: 3

7. Summit (N.J.), 10-0

The Hilltoppers jumped out to an 8-3 halftime lead and held off Westfield for an 11-9 win in the Union County tournament championship. Luke DiNola led the way with four goals and one assist, Jake Rainero won 13 of 24 faceoffs, Michael Bonomo also had four goals and Dylan Sebastian, Jimmy Persched and Matt Vigliotta had one goal apiece. Summit stopped Cranford 10-1 in the UCT semifinals. DiNola racked up six points on five goals and an assist, Bonomo had a hat trick and Sebastian scored one goal and added a pair of assists. 8. Gonzaga (D.C.), 5-2  

Gonzaga defeated a solid Riverside (Va.) squad 16-10 on May 19 with James Matan pacing the offense with five goals. Brendan Lane, Ryan Splaine and Luke Raymond all scored twice in the contest. Brock Schaffner, Johnny Stanton, Jack Leland, Ryan Taylor and Tom Neill all had one goal apiece. Lane, Matan and Norton also each scored two goals apiece in a 14-10 loss to St. John’s on Thursday. 9. Bullis (D.C.), 8-3       

Bullis moved into the IAC final with a 11-8 win over St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Va.). Tucker Wade and Connor Davis had two goals and an assist apiece, Maliik Wood scored twice, and five other Bulldog players scored one goal apiece. Bullis will play at Georgetown Prep on Tuesday for the league title. Previous: 8

10. Don Bosco (N.J.), 11-0

Connor Gorman scored four goals and added two assists to pace Don Bosco to a 13-6 win over Bergen Catholic (N.J.) in the semifinals of the Bergen Catholic tournament. Koleton Marquis had a game-high seven points on three goals and four assists. Kai Dimaculangan made eight saves. In a 20-2 win over Mahwah (N.J.) in the semifinals, Marquis pumped in 11 points on four goals and seven assists, and Gorman scored five goals. Bosco will play Northern Highlands (N.J.) for the championship Tuesday. Previous: 9

1. Dallas Jesuit (Texas), 12-2

The Rangers clinched a state championship on May 9 by defeating Highland Park (Texas) 10-8 after being deadlocked at 5 at halftime. Senior Curran Rose, who had four goals in the state championship game, led Dallas Jesuit with 31 goals. Dallas Jesuit had a month of its season interrupted early in the year but showed no rust in collecting notable wins over Episcopal Dallas (Texas) and Louisville Trinity (Ky.). The Rangers split with Highland Park in two regular-season meetings, and their other loss was to nationally ranked Culver Academy (Ind.). Previous: 1

2. St. Andrew’s (Fla.), 16-0

The Scots won a Florida Class 1A title on May 8 by defeating St. Edward’s (Fla.) 13-5, helping legendary coach Tony Seaman to his first championship with St. Andrew’s. Sophomore Jack Schulte had a team-leading 40 goals, and freshman Kurt Schwarz had 24 assists this season. Previous: 2

3. Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.), 17-0

The Crusaders completed an unbeaten season with a state title on March 26, defeating Hough (N.C.) 14-5. Bryce Wojnovich, a Jacksonville recruit, was named the state championship game MVP for his five-goal performance. Junior Caden Zadell led Cardinal Gibbons with 42 goals this season. Previous: 3

4. Blessed Trinity (Ga.), 25-0

The Titans concluded a perfect season with a 12-8 state championship game victory over Pace Academy (Ga.) on Saturday, propelled by two early goals from Riley Sullivan. Blessed Trinity narrowly advanced to the championship after topping Westminster (Ga.) 11-10. Previous: 4

5. Jupiter (Fla.), 18-1

The seniors ended their last season at Jupiter the same way they ended their first season — as state champions. The Warriors won the Florida Class 2A title on May 8 by defeating Winter Park (Fla.) 12-8. Lafayette recruit Max Sanderson led Jupiter with 71 goals. Junior Trace Hogan had 35 assists in addition to 49 goals. Previous: 5

6. Highland Park (Texas), 14-3

The Highlanders came a game shy of winning a state championship, falling to Dallas Jesuit 10-8 on May 9 after holding a 6-5 lead early in the second half. Highland Park had regular season wins over Dallas Jesuit (splitting games) and Westlake (Texas). Previous: 6

7. Louisville St. Xavier (Ky.), 18-3

The Tigers completed a state championship run by topping Trinity (Ky.) 17-8, marking St. Xavier’s third straight state title. Hillis Burns scored five times in the state final. St. Xavier advanced to the title game by defeating Eastern (Ky.) 15-10. Previous 9

8. Ponte Vedra (Fla.), 15-1

The Sharks’ season concluded in a shocking overtime playoff loss to Creekside (Fla.). Maddox Johnson led Ponte Vedra with 49 goals, while Jack Reed led the squad in assists with 20. Previous: 7

9. Middle Creek (N.C.), 12-1

The Mustangs’ season came to an end March 17, losing to eventual state champion Cardinal Gibbons 12-7. Eight Mustangs tallied double figures in goals this year, led by junior Tate Jones, who had 36. Charlie Riesett won more than 90 percent of faceoffs. Previous: 8

10. St. Edward’s (Fla.), 16-5

The Pirates’ run in the state tournament came to an end just short of a title on May 8. St. Edward’s lost to St. Andrew’s (Fla.) 13-5 in the state final. Junior Oscar Lindenthal led St. Edward’s with 66 goals but was held scoreless in the championship game. Senior Danny Richmond had 62 assists. Previous: 10

Midwest Top 10

1. Culver Academy (Ind.), 14-1

The Eagles were idle but now face a big week ahead as they meet Taft (Conn.) in the GEICO Nationals on Sunday. The winner will take on the victor of a match between Georgetown Prep (Md.) and St. John’s College Prep (D.C.). Previous: 1

2. Upper Arlington (Ohio), 18-1

The last time Upper Arlington played Thomas Worthington (Ohio) was way back on March 25, and the Golden Bears defeated the Cardinals 13-5 in their 2021 opener. Now, top-seeded Upper Arlington, which scored 41 goals in its first two postseason games, meets No. 4 Thomas Worthington once again in the Division 1, Region 3 championship game. Previous: 2

3. New Trier (Ill.), 12-0

Rival Loyola Academy led 6-3 at the half, but New Trier whittled its deficit to one entering the fourth quarter, forced overtime and won on a Johnny Hackett goal. Two days later, the Trevians added another close victory, defeating Lake Forest by two goals. Previous: 3

4. Loyola Academy (Ill.), 8-1

Two days after an overtime loss to their rivals out of New Trier, the Ramblers found themselves in another tough battle, tied at a goal apiece after a quarter. This time, Loyola Academy prevailed, controlling the middle quarters by a 5-1 margin en route to a 6-4 victory over Warren (Ill.). Previous: 4

5. Brother Rice (Mich.), 12-2

The Warriors begin their postseason journey this week as the top seed in Division 1, Region 6. Brother Rice remains undefeated within The Mitten State, with its only losses coming to a pair of Buckeye State squads in Cleveland St. Ignatius and Upper Arlington. Previous: 5

6. Dublin Jerome (Ohio), 18-2

The top-seeded Celtics have played great defense to begin the Division 1, Region 1 postseason, surrendering a combined four goals to No. 16-seeded Dublin Scioto (Ohio) and No. 11 Wadsworth (Ohio). Look out for a potential all-Dublin regional championship game between Coffman (Ohio) and Jerome. Previous: 6

7. Hudson (Ohio), 20-1

After their first-round tournament opponent, Cleveland Heights, had to cancel due to a lack of players, the Explorers made up for lost time with a 20-1 victory over Riverside (Ohio). Twelve different players scored for Hudson, including hat tricks by Carter Jenkins and Carter Vaillancourt. Previous: 7

8. Hamilton Southeastern (Ind.), 16-2

The Royals could have some intriguing matchups on the way, including a potential state semifinal against Culver’s varsity squad, which Hamilton edged 8-3 earlier this season. Carmel or Cathedral would likely await in the state title match, with Hamilton beating the former by four goals and the latter by six earlier this season. Previous: 8

9. Hartland (Mich.), 18-1

The top-seeded Eagles were dominant in their Division 1, Region 2 first-round game against eighth-seeded East Kentwood (Mich.), winning 27-0. Hartland will be similarly favored in its regional semifinal against fourth-seeded Howell, which the Eagles defeated 28-0 just two weeks ago. Previous: 9

10. Forest Hills Central (Mich.), 13-3

The Rangers surged to a 14-0 lead just 10 minutes into their postseason opener and cruised to a 22-1 win over Ann Arbor Greenhills (Mich). They then went on to beat an always powerful foe, Detroit Catholic Central, 14-9 in the second round. Previous: 10

West Top 10

1. St. Ignatius Prep (Calif.), 11-0

The Wildcats beat Sacred Heart Prep (Calif.) for a third time, though this one was much closer than the other two. St. Ignatius remains undefeated with the 12-10 victory. Two more games are on the schedule this week before the WCAL playoffs begin June 1 for qualifying into the CIF Central Coast Section playoffs. Previous: 1

2. Torrey Pines (Calif.), 10-2

The Falcons added a trio of wins last week, including a 14-9 victory over La Costa Canyon (Calif.) on Friday to claim the Avocado League championship. That also helped Torrey Pines secure the No. 1 seed in CIF San Diego Open division playoffs, where they will host eighth-seeded La Jolla (Calif.) on Saturday. Previous: 2

3. Loyola Los Angeles (Calif.), 16-1

The Cubs claimed the top seed in the CIF Southern Section-Ford Division I playoffs after wrapping up their regular season with two more wins last week. They finished as Mission League champions. Loyola has a first-round bye when play begins Tuesday and its first match in the newly structured Southern Section tournament will be Friday. In the past, the Southern Section was divided into Orange County and Los Angeles brackets to determine the champion. Previous: 3

4. Corona del Mar (Calif.), 12-3

Logan Ip scored the winner in overtime to lift the Sea Kings past former No. 4 Mater Dei (Calif.) 9-8 on Saturday after Gavin Gossen had the tying goal in regulation. Ty Caffarelli led CdM with three goals, while Gossen finished with two goals. Grant Guiliano finished with five saves. The Sea Kings have won eight straight since suffering back-to-back losses to ranked opponents in mid-April, and they earned a first-round bye into the CIF Southern Section playoffs. Previous: NR

5. Mater Dei (Calif.), 18-2

Despite 12 saves from Nick Colignon, the Monarchs dropped their second overtime loss of the season when they fell 9-8 to Corona del Mar (they also lost by that same score to No. 3 Loyola on April 15). Otherwise, it was a good week for Mater Dei. After collecting a 9-7 win over previously ranked Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.), the Monarchs finished off a perfect record in Trinity League play with a 12-4 win over St. John Bosco (Calif.). Tommy Bethel and Grant Portillo had three goals each in the loss to CdM, Kyle Waterman led a balanced attack against Bosco with two goals and sophomore Triston Jewell paced the attack against Foothill with four goals. Colignon had 22 saves combined between the Bosco and Foothill wins. Previous: 4

6. Regis Jesuit (Colo.), 4-0

The Raiders added a 15-9 win over Rock Canyon (Colo.) on Friday, but the big test comes Tuesday when they host Mountain Vista (Colo.), a team that has overtaken the No. 1 spot in the CHSAA.now rankings. That game likely will decide whether Regis remains the top Colorado team in the West or whether Mountain Vista moves ahead next week. Previous: 5

7. Mountain Vista (Colo.), 5-0

The Golden Eagles climbed into the rankings last week after beating a talented Valor Christian (Colo.) squad, and now they move up on the strength of an 18-2 win over Castle View (Colo.) on Friday. Jake Ward led the attack with four goals and four assists, Jake Stopkoski added three goals and two assists, and Dillon Pless had a hat trick. Previous: 10

8. Corner Canyon (Utah), 20-0

The Chargers advanced to the semifinals of the UHSAA/Mountain America Division A tournament with an 18-8 win against American Fork (Utah) on Friday. That followed a 17-4 win against Skyline (Utah) in their tournament opener, as Mason Quick led with eight points on five goals and three assists and Jon King had a team-high six goals to go along with one assist. Blake Franckowiak played an all-around solid game with two goals, two assists, 11 ground balls and three takeaways. Corner Canyon plays Olympus for a spot in the championship Wednesday. Previous: 5

9. De La Salle (Calif.), 10-1

The Spartans have won three straight since suffering their only loss of the season against St. Ignatius Prep, including a dominant 17-4 win over previously ranked San Ramon Valley (Calif.) on May 14. They collected an 18-8 win over Monte Vista-Danville (Calif.) and 19-4 victory over Piedmont last week. Two more games remain on the schedule this week. Previous: NR

10. Lakeridge (Ore.), 9-2

The Pacers avenged one of their two regular-season losses in the game that mattered most, beating previously ranked Jesuit Portland (Ore.) 11-8 in the Metro Area Tourney championship game Saturday. Lakeridge trailed by two in the third quarter but outscored the Crusaders 7-4 down the stretch for the win in the de facto state championship game of the pandemic-shortened 2021 campaign. Jake Reichle won 11 of 14 faceoffs in the second half. Matt Wright, Nolan Lawler, Jude Cowie and Preston Stewart led the attack with two goals each. Previous: NR
