ATLANTA — There were plenty of interesting results in MCLA Division I this past week, but Brigham Young remains the top-ranked team in Week Two of the New Balance MCLA Division I Coaches Poll that was released Wednesday.
The Cougars, who were idle this week and grabbed 14 first-place votes, saw California and Georgia Tech fall back in the pack, but also witnessed Clemson score a pair of ranked wins to move into the second slot.
The Tigers were awarded eight top votes to keep them solidly in second and just nine points behind BYU.
Concordia-Irvine, who took down former No. 2 California, moved up to the third spot with three first-place votes.
Cal held onto a first-place vote to stick at No. 4, while Liberty rounded out the top five.
New Hampshire dropped out of the poll this week and was replaced by No. 25 Grand Canyon.
