Bryanna Fazio, an offensive star for 2018 national champion Le Moyne, is back for her senior year and hoping to repeat. After taking the Division II women’s lacrosse world by storm last season, Fazio is the 2019 Brine/US Lacrosse Division II Women’s Preseason Player of the Year.
The veteran attacker served as a catalyst for last year’s national championship run and was the NCAA tournament’s most outstanding player after posting at least six points in all three tournament games. She led the Dolphins in 2018 with 105 points on 78 goals and 27 assists, and set a school record with 154 draw controls. One opposing coach summarized it best by saying, “She’s a huge talent with great athleticism.”
Fazio needs just 20 points in 2019 to break the school’s all-time record of 242, set by Amanda Keegan in 2007. She’s third in school history with 3.83 points per game and just 25 goals away from breaking Le Moyne's career scoring record. She’ll hope to lead the top team in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division II Women’s Preseason Top 20 to glory once again.
