The Brine/US Lacrosse Players of the Week are named each Tuesday to recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage.
Northeast
Lucy Rugaber, Penfield (N.Y.)
The junior scored off a feed from eighth-grader Elisa Faklaris with 1:32 left in regulation to propel Penfield to a 6-5 win over Pittsford (N.Y.) in the Section V Class A semifinals. Pittsford had won 29 games in a row and the last four sectional titles. Rugaber finished with three goals and one assist.

Sarah Cipolla, Glenelg (Md.)
Cipolla accounted for half of her team’s goals in a 6-5 win over Hereford (Md.) that secured Glenelg’s third straight championship. The junior is committed to William & Mary.
