The Brine/US Lacrosse Players of the Week are named each Tuesday to recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage.

Northeast

Caitlin Chicoski, Wellesley (Mass.)

Chicoski, a senior attacker, netted five goals to lead Wellesley to a 15-7 win over Notre Dame (Mass.) in the Division I South sectional championship. Wellesley clinched a berth in the state semifinals, where it will face North champion Chelmsford (Mass.).

Also notable: Lyssa Tyler, Longmeadow (Mass.); Maddy Balter, Wellesley (Mass.).

Midwest

Reagan Roelofs, Apple Valley (Minn.)

Roelofs stepped up to help Apple Valley (Minn.) to its first-ever state championship. The senior midfielder saved some of her best lacrosse for the end of the year, scoring five times in the state quarterfinal against Maple Grove (Minn.), five times against Blake School (Minn.) in the semifinal, and then adding three tallies in an 11-10 win over Eden Prairie (Minn.) in the final. She is committed to the U.S. Naval Academy in the fall.
