The Brine/US Lacrosse Players of the Week are named each Tuesday to recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage.

Northeast

Grace Coon, Marcellus (N.Y.)

The senior finished with four goals in a 15-7 win over Skaneateles (N.Y.) last week. Coon, who is headed to the University of Connecticut, now has 11 goals and one assist in five games this season.

Mid-Atlantic

Olivia Derrico, Ridgewood (N.J.)

Derrico scored the game-winning goal and had four ground balls to lift the Maroons to a 9-8 win over Summit (N.J.) last week. The junior also had a goal and an assist in a win over Montclair (N.J.).

South

Claire Reist, Panther Creek (N.C.)

The junior scored eight goals and dished out four assists in a win over Jordan (N.C.). She also won 18 of 24 draw controls. In a 10-9 win over Broughton (N.C.), she managed a goal and two assists despite being double-team most of the game. She won 13 of 20 draw controls to help Panther Creek improve to 11-0. Reist has 29 goals and 19 assists on the season.

Midwest

Kelly Csenar, Carmel (Ind.)

Csenar, who is a Lincoln Memorial University signee, scored eight goals and added three assists in Carmel's 22-0 win over North Central (Ind.). She then scored seven times and had an assist against Culver Academy (Ind.) on Saturday. She leads the entire state of Indiana in points and is tied for first in goals.

Mackenzie Chapman, Bainbridge Island (Wash.)

The senior midfielder racked up 10 points in a 20-7 win over then-No. 8 Eastside Catholic (Wash.) last week, helping Bainbridge Island remain unbeaten and slide into the West top 10. She had nine goals and one assist and leads the team with 38 goals and 13 assists through six games.
