Boston College keeps raking in preseason accolades.
The defending NCAA Division I women’s lacrosse champion garnered 24 of 26 first-place votes in the ILWomen/IWLCA preseason poll released Monday. Also ranked No. 1 in the Nike/USA Lacrosse Preseason Top 20, the Eagles are one of six ACC teams in the top 11. No. 2 North Carolina received the remaining first-place votes.
There are also six Big Ten teams in the combined coaches and media poll, which ranks 25 teams and will be updated weekly throughout the season. Inside Lacrosse and the IWLCA made the decision to join forces for the 2022 season, a partnership announced last week.
The season starts Feb. 11, when No. 3 Syracuse hosts No. 13 Stanford. Also that weekend, No. 1 Boston College takes on No. 4 Northwestern.
