Boston College Club and Loyola Maryland Club both utilized strong second-half performances to capture the 2022 WCLA Division I and II national championships Saturday in Round Rock, Texas. 

In the Division I game, No. 1 seed BC used a 6-1 run over a 10-minute span in the second half to break away from No. 2 Georgia for a 12-7 victory and their first WCLA title. Senior Sara O’Brien scored four goals and junior Katie Duttenhofer added three to lead the Eagles, who competed an undefeated season with a 16-0 record.

"There's so much energy on this team and its unbelievable how much we've grown as a team this year," said Duttenhofer, who was named as the tournament most outstanding attacker. "This team is amazing."

In Division II, No. 2 seed Loyola Maryland rallied from a two-goal halftime deficit by holding No. 13 Vermont scoreless for a 16-minute stretch en route to a 13-11 win. The Greyhounds captured their third straight WCLA crown, adding to their wins in 2018 and 2019 (there were no championships in 2020 and 2021). Loyola finished 14-1 on the season.

"We knew it would be a long road back after two years of COVID, but we were determined to keep our program at the top," said Loyola team captain Erin Haverty.
