This is it. The final category of Best of Lax.

First of all, thank you to all of our amazing followers on Twitter for playing along and voting to determine the top stars and personalities of 2021. Fittingly, we’ve saved the best category for last.

It’s time to vote for the Best Player of the year. These transcendent stars are the best of the best. The ones who kids around the nation emulate. The players who dominated on the field and off the field this year.

Here are the nominees for Best Player.

BEST PLAYER

For the larger-than-life star who stood above them all in 2021.

CHARLOTTE NORTH

The Tewaaraton Award winner, North’s star gets brighter by the day. From her rocket sidearm shots from the 8-meter arc to her exuberant fist pumps after goals, North is one of the most recognizable figures in lacrosse. She’s looking to lead Boston College to its second straight NCAA title.

JARED BERNHARDT

A quiet superstar, Bernhardt won the Tewaaraton Award and set countless Maryland scoring records. He lifted his team to the NCAA championship game, where the Terps fell in a heartbreaker to Virginia. He then went on to win a Division II football national championship with Ferris State as the starting quarterback.

TAYLOR CUMMINGS

The inaugural champion of Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse, Cummings is the sport’s only three-time Tewaaraton Award winner. Coming off the heels of North’s monumental college season, Cummings reminded everyone that she’s still at the top of her game.

BLAZE RIORDEN

The Premier Lacrosse League MVP, championship game MVP and No. 1 player in the PLL Players Top 50, Riorden had a banner summer. One of the top players and most respected individuals in lacrosse, Riorden brings a championship mindset to his teammates.
