Some players just have that it factor. In a big game or key moment, they almost always come through.

The candidates for Best Individual Performance all have that clutch gene. When their teams needed monster performances, they didn’t bat an eye. Instead, they completely took over.

Here are the nominees for Best Individual Performance.

BEST INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE

For the superstars who completely took over games.

CONNOR SHELLENBERGER

Virginia’s redshirt freshman was unstoppable in the NCAA championship game, notching four goals and two assists. He scored twice during a game-changing 5-0 run by the Cavaliers that put UVA ahead 16-11 in an eventual 17-16 win.

PAT KAVANAGH

The Notre Dame phenom had two massive games against Syracuse last spring, but it was his second outing against the Orange that took the cake. He tallied five goals and five assists in a 22-8 win on May 1, breaking the program single-game points record — which he already held.

CHARLOTTE NORTH

North was a cheat code in 2021, and she put together video game numbers on April 10 against Virginia Tech. She had 10 goals (Boston College and ACC single-game records), one assist and 13 draw controls in the 21-11 win.

IZZY SCANE

Scane was electric all spring with five double-digit point performances. One of her most ridiculous games came against Rutgers on March 19 when she scored 10 goals on just 15 shots. That set a single-game record for Northwestern, a historic program that’s seen its fair share of offensive juggernauts come through.
