The reigning national champion still reigns.
In its first true test against No. 4 Florida, No. 1 Maryland secured a two-goal halftime lead and used a five-goal second half run to win 16-14, despite the Gators' late rally. Megan Whittle and Jen Giles led the Terps with five points apiece, while goalie Megan Taylor made 11 saves.
Boston College jumps into the top five of the Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Women's Top 20 after staying undefeated with dominating wins over Holy Cross and Boston University, while James Madison continued its ascent, most recently defeating UConn by 12 goals.

The Blue Devils had an impressive showing Sunday. Playing against a confident Northwestern squad, they handled their first top-20 opponent well, netting a four-goal lead by halftime and holding off the Wildcats' second half comeback. Duke goalie Gabbe Cadoux made 10 saves, including six in the second half, three of which came on Northwestern's final offensive possession. Freshman Charlotte North stepped up for the young Blue Devils with a hat trick.

Penn State (-6)
After being ranked No. 4 during the preseason, Penn State has not performed like a top-10 team, being upset by Towson and then barely scraping by against unranked Lehigh with a one-goal win Saturday. The Nittany Lions will look to improve against Duquesne in a mid-week matchup before a tough four-game slate against Cornell, Loyola, James Madison and Albany.
USC (-3)
The Trojans began the season with a dominant six-goal win over Virginia Tech but could not sustain that momentum against Stony Brook. USC has a chance to improve its national standing with a Midwest road swing at Notre Dame and Northwestern before returning home to play Boston College.
Florida (-2)
Florida played a tight game against the reigning NCAA champion, but its lone win is against Colorado, which is teetering on the edge of the top 20. A win over Loyola and Jacksonville to end February would help the Gators bounce back before starting March against North Carolina.
Northwestern (-2)
The Wildcats struggled early against Duke after starting 2018 strong with three dominant wins, most recently over Colorado. They struggled on the draw, losing the possession battle 12-7 to the Blue Devils. Northwestern certainly could rebound in the rankings, as the Wildcats now turn to face USC followed by Stony Brook.
