Ashley Humphrey’s first season on the field for Stanford will go down in history.

The redshirt-freshman ascended to the top of the record book on Friday, passing Kylie Ohlmiller for the most assists in a single season in Division I women’s history. Humphrey dished out four assists in a 20-8 loss to Jacksonville in the first round of the NCAA tournament, giving her 88 for the season.

Ohlmiller produced 86 assists in 2017.

Humphrey had 10 games this season with at least five assists and three games with at least seven. She also scored 36 goals this season, giving her 124 points — tied for first in the country with High Point’s Abby Hormes.

A highly touted prospect out of Darien, Conn., Humphrey has set herself up for a stellar collegiate career.
