Asher Nolting, the bruising attackman who will go down as one of the most talented players in High Point men’s lacrosse history, isn’t done just yet. The senior announced Tuesday that he intends to use his extra year of eligibility and return to lead the Panthers in 2022.

The news comes after Nolting helped lead High Point to its second NCAA tournament in school history, downing Richmond in the Southern Conference title game.

"[High Point] and the people that I’ve met during my time here have made this the best time of my life,” Nolting said via High Point’s Twitter. “I set goals that I wanted this team to reach and while we have accomplished many of those there’s still things that I want to accomplish with this program.”

Nolting dropped 27 goals and 45 assists in 2021, leading the Panthers with 72 points. He was named a USA Lacrosse Magazine Honorable Mention All-American.

In total, Nolting has tallied 263 points on 112 goals and 151 assists — setting the single-season points record with 92 in 2019.

Tehoka Enters Transfer Portal

Tehoka Nanticoke, the former Albany star who was dismissed from the team in March due to “internal team issues,” has entered the transfer portal as an undergrad. Nanticoke played the 2021 season as a senior, but intends to play out the remainder of his college lacrosse career elsewhere.

Nanticoke instantly becomes one of the most talented offensive players on the transfer portal, with stick skills and a powerful dodge that made him one of the country’s top threats during his freshman season in 2018.

He dropped 50 goals and 32 assists and became an All-American as a freshman in 2018. The next season, he was suspended and then reinstated over an Instagram post in which he tagged a stick-stringing company — calling into question whether the post violated the NCAA’s amateurism rules.

Nanticoke did not report to Albany in the fall of 2019, but returned to score 19 goals and eight assists in the shortened 2020 season. Prior to his dismissal in 2021, Nanticoke led the Great Danes with 15 goals and eight assists.

Another Top Transfer for Duke

The Duke Blue Devils won the transfer portal race in the 2020 offseason, and they’re off to a good start this summer.

Ty Xanders reported Monday that former Penn attackman Sean Lulley, who had entered his name in the transfer portal, intends to join Duke as a grad transfer for the 2022 season.

Lulley has played in just six games since the start of 2020, with the COVID-19 pandemic wiping out most of the 2020 season and limiting the Quakers to just one game this year. However, he blossomed as a key part of Penn’s offense during his sophomore season in 2019.

The Melville, N.Y. native dropped 29 goals and 17 assists in a successful 2019 campaign, which included a trip to the NCAA quarterfinals. Lulley tallied three goals and an assist in the classic loss to Yale.

Lulley’s teammates, defenseman Ben Bedard and attackman Jack Schultz, who had previously been in the transfer portal, intend to return for a fifth year at Penn, according to Xanders.
