Andy Towers is a blue-collar guy, despite how many viewed him as he grew into a star lacrosse player. He made his name known at Brown, where he was a two-time All-American and one of the most polarizing figures in college lacrosse.

“I was certainly very sure of myself,” he joked. “If you watched a game, you’d think that that guy was cocky. I was very animated, and when we were successful, I was out front. I was happy to see my teammates succeed, and I was definitely not afraid to talk smack.”

His life changed when he was kicked out of Brown during his junior year. During this pivotal point in his life, Towers did some soul searching while coaching at Denison. He returned to Brown and launched a successful pro lacrosse career before joining the college coaching ranks.

Decades later, the Chaos Lacrosse Club coach reflected on a few decisions that changed the course of his life. He sat down with Paul Carcaterra to talk about his career and what’s next.
