NEW YORK — Columbia women's lacrosse head coach Andrea Cofrin, who has led the program for the last five seasons, announced her resignation on Monday, effective immediately.

Assistant coach Taylor Pennell will assume duties as Columbia's interim head coach and Jackie Pardee will continue to serve in her role as assistant coach. Nine games remain on the Lions' 2020 schedule.

"We are moving forward with Taylor as our interim head coach," said Columbia University's Campbell Family Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Peter Pilling. "We will immediately begin a national search for a new women's lacrosse coach."
