Two sanctioned tournament partners of US Lacrosse hosted over the weekend qualifying events for the US Lacrosse Nationals as the fall playing season continued in the Southwest. The 10th annual US Lacrosse Nationals is set for Aug. 2-5, 2018, at DE Turf Sports Complex in Frederica, Del.

A summary of each qualifier:

Texas Lax Festival I (Bitter Lacrosse)

More than 70 teams, representing six states, participated in the tournament. The event was held at a picturesque ranch outside of Austin, Texas. Despite receiving more than 2 inches of snow on Thursday evening (a very rare occurrence for this area), the tournament commenced on Saturday morning and the teams played more than 160 games over two days.

On the boys' side, in the 14U Division, Team 91 Texas Revolution 2022 went a perfect 5-0 for the weekend to capture the tournament title. In the 13U Qualifying Division, Sentry 2023 from Dallas ran the table on the weekend to win the championship and earn points toward a berth in the US Lacrosse Nationals. Finally, in the 12U Qualifying Division, FasTrac 2024 from Plano, Texas, remained undefeated throughout the weekend to win its first qualifying event and accompanying points.

Sin City Showdown (Adrenaline Lacrosse)

Adrenaline's second consecutive event just outside Las Vegas drew more than 50 boys' and girls' teams and featured qualifying play on the girls' side.

Five well-established club programs in the West and another from Virginia earned points on their #RoadToDelaware and the US Lacrosse Nationals. Clubs from San Diego (West Coast Starz, Mad Dog, Pacific Falcons), Los Angeles (Team Scream), Seattle (Seattle Starz) and Northern Virginia (Cardinal) brought together their best 2022 teams to compete in a championship-style tournament.

Pool play took place on Saturday, pushing four teams into playoffs on Sunday. Cardinal (above) made its trek west worthwhile, going undefeated on the weekend and winning the Verge Middle School 2022 Division title. All scores from the weekend can be found on Tourney Machine here. Each team notched wins to earn qualifying points.

That brings to a close the fall season of qualifying tournaments. They resume Jan. 6-7, 2018, in Del Mar, Calif., at The Challenge for boys and girls hosted by Adrenaline and in West Palm Beach, Fla., for the Florida Lax Festival for boys hosted by Bitter Lacrosse.

The qualifications standings for the US Lacrosse Nationals are automated through Tourney Machine by SI Play, and updated as scores from qualifying events are entered into the Tourney Machine platform.
