Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Team USA coach John Danowski, who will lead the U.S. men’s national team at the 2018 Federation of International Lacrosse World Championship in Manchester, England, became the all-time winningest NCAA Division I men's lacrosse coach when the Blue Devils defeated Jacksonville 13-6 Monday afternoon for win No. 376. In his career, he has recorded 27 wins at LIU Post, 192 at Hofstra and 157 most recently at Duke.

“This win is the next one for this particular team,” said Danowski. “Every season is a journey. Every season is a lot of fun so this particular win is just the next one for our team.”

In other Division I men’s lacrosse news, the reigning national champion North Carolina went down. Unranked Richmond upset the No 10 Tar Heels 6-5 thanks to a 3-0 fourth quarter shutout. Ryan Lee led the Spiders with three points on two goals and an assist, while Peter Moran was 9-for-15 on faceoffs.

2. This week’s Nike/US Lacrosse rankings saw new teams in the top five. On the men’s side, Penn State ascends to the top, assuming the No. 1 spot – for now. The Nittany Lions handed Harvard its first loss over the weekend as they now sit with a 7-0 unblemished record.

On the women’s side, Princeton jumps into the top five, now ranked No. 5 with its best start since 2008. Colorado also bumped up three spots to No. 6 after upsetting Penn State. The Tigers and Buffs join No. 1 Maryland as the only teams remaining in Division I that are undefeated.

3. The Epoch/US Lacrosse Players of the Week are Towson’s Alex Woodall on the men’s side and Maryland’s Megan Taylor on the women’s side.

4. Winter storm Stella postponed several games.

Pace University, originally scheduled to play the University of Indianapolis on Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Division III women’s lacrosse, will now play at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, creating a doubleheader at the US Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md.

That’s just one of several games being rescheduled from Tuesday. In Division I men, No. 5 Rutgers at No. 9 Princeton, the 95^th meeting between the two programs, will now be played on Wednesday at 7 p.m. No. 11 Towson’s game against No. 18 Ohio State will also be played Wednesday, but a time will be determined in the morning. Additionally, Stony Brook’s home game against Lehigh and Monmouth’s match against VMI have been postponed, yet makeup dates have yet to be announced.

What We’re Reading

• Avid Saskatchewan Rush fan Bobbi Janzeen, who was born visually impaired with a degenerative eye condition, was able to watch her favorite team play after strangers’ donations bought her eSight glasses, a device that allows those who are legally blind see.

• The lady Terps may be one of just three remaining undefeated teams in Division I, but there’s still more work to do after graduating Taylor Cummings and Alice Mercer.

• The Baltimore Sun profiles Towson attackman Joe Seider, who reached the 100-goal mark in the Tigers’ 13-8 victory over Johns Hopkins on Saturday.

• Mount St. Mary’s men’s lacrosse had a pleasant nine-hour drive back home to Emmitsburg, Md., after netting its first win of the season at Bellarmine.

• Stevenson is improving much in part thanks to junior J.T. Thelen who has scored at least two goals in each of his three starts.

• In Division III men, teams like reigning champion Salisbury schedule “gauntlets” to start the season.

• In the warm south, lacrosse goes on. Three Top 5 Division I women’s teams are in action. No. 3 Florida hosts No. 4 Syracuse at noon and No. 2 North Carolina plays No. 14 Elon at 6 p.m.

• US Lacrosse will announce today the assistant coaches and support staff for the 2019 U.S. men’s national indoor team.
