ESPN will televise 25 NCAA Division I men's lacrosse games and expects to stream an additional 80 games on its digital platforms this spring, the network announced Tuesday.
Anish Shroff will serve as the lead play-by-play commentator, taking over for Eamon McAnaney, who had served as the voice of ESPN's lacrosse broadcasts for nearly a decade before leaving the network to work full-time for SNY. Quint Kessenich and Paul Carcaterra return as the top color analysts.
Among the televised games (complete schedule below) are an NCAA championship game rematch between North Carolina and Maryland on March 25, an April 15 matchup of Ivy League frontrunners Brown and Yale and their respective Tewaaraton candidates Dylan Molloy and Ben Reeves, and several conference championship games.
For the 10th straight year, ESPN will provide complete coverage of the NCAA tournament, starting with a selection special on May 7 and culminating in championship weekend at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., May 27-29.
ESPN has added Chris Cotter to its lineup of lacrosse announcers, joining Shroff, Mike Corey, Jason Benetti and Booker Corrigan on play-by-play duties. Former UMBC and Johns Hopkins coach Don Zimmerman joins a group of analysts that also includes Kessenich, Carcaterra, Ryan Boyle, Matt Ward, Ryan Flanagan and Mark Dixon.
The network also unveiled a new player profile segment called "reLAXin' with P. Carc," featuring interactive interviews of the top players by Carcaterra, starting with Reeves.
